Welcome to our farm!

Sweet Shrub Farm has begun it’s first year as a cut flower farm! We have been super busy starting seeds, designing our field, and making up rows. We’ll start moving our plants into the field this weekend!

Before things get crazy in the field and my time is limited up here, I wanted to share a little bit more about Sweet Shrub Farm.

So when it came to naming our farm, I thought long and hard. I prayed. I didn’t want just any name. I wanted a name with meaning and with roots.

See this sweet girl? This is my Sadie girl. She’s 7 years old, aspires to own a bakery one day, and is truly my biggest cheerleader! Her nickname is “Sweet Shrub!” 😉

See this tractor-loving fella? This is Mr Luther, aka Sockey. Mr Luther grew up in Gates County, NC. He was deeply rooted here. He loved his family, his church, and his garden. He also loved children. 😊 He gave Sadie her nickname. From the time she was a little bitty thing, he called her Sweet Shrub and it stuck! I know Mr Luther and his pocket full of tootsie rolls left lasting memories for Sadie and our family. He sure did love him some Sweet Shrub and we loved him. ❤️ (Mrs Rebecca, we love you too!)

Like Mr Luther, Sweet Shrub Farm is deeply rooted in faith, family, and now flowers. I look forward to sharing our first growing season with you! (You never know what we’ll get into! 😂)
